I am Mimi, the artist, designer, and storerunner of YUMEMIMIR. I love creating cute and nostalgic illustrations and pixel art inspired by my favorite shows, comics, manga, and toys of my childhood. I put my nostalgia for the Y2K and frutiger aero aesthetics into all of my work.
The happy little pixelated games of my childhood GameBoy inspires and fuels my adoration for pixel art.
I hope to bring the same comforting and cutesy nostalgia to those who stop by my shop!
ABOUT ME
I've been drawing for as long as I could hold a pencil, but started dedicating more of my studies to pixel illustration in the early 2020s. My journey to share my artwork through collectible little items began in 2022, when I first opened up shop under the moniker Mirupiico, creating very simple, cutesy, childlike illustrations for merchandise design. In 2025, I rebranded into YUMEMIMIR in hopes of being able to create artwork that spoke more to my personal experiences and sources of joy, rather than just focusing on the types of art that was popular at the time.
Because I enjoy consuming and exploring artwork from both current and past artists and series, a lot of my inspiration is a culmination of modern day processes and aesthetics of a bygone era that I still hold dear. I love pixel art because it reminds me of the nostalgic days of the early internet, and the fun little adventures that I could explore on my favorite pocket handhelds, like the GameBoy, PSP, and the DS. Even modern day games, full of vivid pixel art and compelling stories, continually inspire me to strengthen and improve my own pixel art skills to convey my love of the medium as well.
Through my artwork I hope to bring the same comforting mix of humor, nostalgia, and coziness to others as I recieve through the things that inspire me. Pixel art collectors, stationery fans, stickerheads, decora masters, or simply passerby art enjoyers are welcomed here with open arms!
